Innovation in design
A significant amount of the project’s supporting infrastructure was designed and built in a way which would allow for off-site construction. The development itself features GRPP switch room enclosures which are mounted inside a steel frame – with all switchgear and equipment mounted to the structure before being shipped and placed on the site.
This was also the first project the Smith Brothers team connected under the new G99 guidelines. As such, the different types of technology – and application of the regulations – meant several studies and a modified approach had to be implemented.
