Sancton Hill Wind farm is a 10MW wind generation scheme near Sancton in Beverley, Yorkshire. The developer REG Wind-power is making a £12.5million investment in the wind farm incorporating five 2MW Vesta’s V80 grid-streamer turbines which are expected to generate approximately 27GWh per annum.
Smith Brothers (Contracting) Ltd were employed by REG Wind-power to provide the contestable electricity connection to the 33kV Northern Power Grid Network, substation civil and electrical works and array cable connections for power and communications connecting the site to the Northern Power Grid Network.
This included all 33 llkV transformers, switchgear, power cabling, control protection panels as well as SCADA connections and battery chargers.
Smith Brothers were commissioned to provide full civil electrical design and consultancy services as well as civil engineering groundworks to support this project.
